A recent donation of £8,000 to the Earth Restoration Service has resulted in schools in Lancashire, Leicestershire and South Wales benefitting from the School Tree Nursey Programme. The money was donated in recognition of a successful recycling project that involved re-purposing manufacturing components to reduce landfill.
The project was jointly managed by MGS Technical Plastics, a plastic injection moulding company from Blackburn in Lancashire, together with science-based technology company, 3M, which has sites in all three regions. Both companies agreed that the savings from the project should go to support environmental education in their local communities. Employees from 3M helped students at a number of the schools to plant the tree saplings as part of its 3Mgives volunteering programme.
