our Patrons

Joanna Lumley, OBE, FRGS

Joanna Lumley has helped ERS greatly over the years, starting as a patron in 2008, when she joined us in the House of Lords to argue for a strong and more widespread restoration movement across the world.  She also voiced our short animation: Harry Handprint and Freddy Footprint.

"Volunteering for things makes life much more exciting. That’s what the ERS Handprint campaign is all about, and why I was thrilled to take part in this film. At just one minute long it is short and charming, but its message is nonetheless powerful, compelling and extremely important.”

Dr Martin Shaw

Dr. Shaw has helped ERS with storytelling events involving the myths and legends of rivers and has helped to raise funds to restore a river through our Breathing Waterways programme.

Lord Walton of Detchant

Leading neurologist Lord Walton was instrumental in launching our programmes at the House of Lords in 2007.  He was a dedicated and generous supporter right up until his death in 2016 aged 93.  The woodlands and wildflower meadows we have planted are testimony to his decade of support.

Supporters

We have been generously supported by the following organisations in various capacities over the years. They have helped make it possible for us to plant trees, hedges and wildflower meadows with schools around the UK.
