Planting a hedgerow for wildlife in Solihull

At St. Peter’s School in Solihull, we donated 50 trees to help them plant a new hedgerow in their grounds.

This is part of our Hedgerow Habitat and Wildlife Corridor programme to restore hedges and the habitats for many species of wildlife.

Two teachers joined 12 students, aged 11-18 years old, who reportedly were very excited to get going on the tree and hedge planting.

Their teacher, Sadia, shared the following feedback with us:

“Thank you for allowing our students to experience planting these trees and making a positive contribution to their school environment.

The students were very eager to get involved and enjoyed the process of the planting.

We were also fortunate to have two park rangers from Solihull Council present to support the students and provide additional planting equipment.

Thank you for providing the trees and the accompanying tree guards, the guards have been very useful. The delivery process was good and we were often provided with updates.”

A great example of how people from around in a community can come together to restore their local environment, while creating a new learning opportunity for young people.

We are looking forward to hearing more about the hedge and the future.
