A new Tree Nursery at Padnell Infant School in Hampshire

“The children were excited to be planting the trees and said ‘they were saving the planet’.”

At Padnell Infant School in Cowplain, Hampshire, they recently received 50 native trees from us to create their own Tree Nursery.

Three teachers spent half a day planting the trees with 30 children, aged 5-7.

After the planting day, the headteacher of the school sent us the following feedback about their day and the experience:

“The children were excited to be planting the trees and said ‘they were saving the planet’. One child commented that a member of staff here, Mrs Jackson would want to plant lots in her garden because she loves the Queen.

We have planted the trees around a much more mature Oak tree purchased to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. We hope that it will grow alongside the children of Padnell for many years to come and be a memory of a special moment in time.

We look forward to caring for our tree nursery and eventually planting them out in the community.”

A big thank you to Pines and Needles in London for choosing us as their selected charity. Their Christmas fundraising helped raise enough money to provide 43 schools in England with school tree nurseries this year!

Let us know that you are interested in taking part and sign up your school to receive native trees for your own nursery.
