Rewilding a stream in Hailsham, East Sussex

A part of the ‘Breathing Waterways’ campaign of the Earth Restoration Service.

Skips were hired (and filled), and gloves acquired. The work was hard, and at times overwhelming. But the true face of the river can now be seen again. She is full with newly planted wild river-flowers, wildlife has also been spotted, and the light reflects on her back as she meanders through the woods. The results can be seen in this little film. As we clear the river, we clear the same detritus in ourselves. What a privilege it is to be part of this work. Please join us next time.
